In the summer of 2020, a new chapter began — one that brought together two sisters, two dreams, and one shared vision.
My sister Victoria and I decided to take a leap and open our first boutique: HERmanas. The name, meaning “sisters” in Spanish, felt like the most natural reflection of who we are, two sisters building something meaningful together. HERmanas became more than just a store; it became a space that celebrated women, creativity, and connection.
At the time, Bikinis By Bridget was offering ready-to-wear swimwear alongside my custom designs. Partnering through HERmanas allowed us to give customers something they couldn’t get online, a hands-on experience. For the first time, women could walk into a boutique, feel the fabrics, try on the swimsuits, and connect with our story in person.
Back then, our production was based in Mexico, where each bikini was created through small-batch, ethical manufacturing. Every piece was made with care, using quality materials that supported artisans and sustainability. Having that inventory physically in-store gave us an opportunity to share the heart behind the brand, the textures, the colours, the craftsmanship, and the confidence behind every stitch.
Opening the boutique was also an exciting new venture for both of us. It gave Bikinis By Bridget a home and allowed HERmanas to become a one-stop lifestyle destination, a curated space where swimwear met style. We began creating capsule outfits that could also be paired with our bikinis and clothing, accessories, and essentials, helping customers build complete looks that took them from poolside to dinner by the lake.
Located in cottage country, Ontario, HERmanas quickly became a destination for locals, travelers, and fashion lovers alike. Every summer, the store buzzed with laughter, sunshine, and sisterhood, women discovering new pieces, trying on their favourite fits, and supporting women-led brands.
For us, HERmanas is more than just a boutique. It’s a celebration of collaboration, community, and the beauty of building something with heart. It’s where our story, and yours come together.
